Matteo Brogi: Cecchi and Collard-Picard, from Chianti to Champagne

On October 28, in Florence, Andrea Cecchi and Olivier Collard presented the Collard-Picard champagne. The Sélection, Prestige, Dom Picard, Rosé, Prestige Essentiel and Des Archieves Cuvée with the precious Millesimee '79, '76, '69 rosé from René Collard's collection, for the first time out of the maison, were tasted by a panel of Italian wine-tasters.
Collard-Picard owns 16 hectares of vineyards. The Maison was born in 1996 in Villers sous Châtillon, in the Vallée de la Marne, through the efforts of Olivier Collard, grandson of René Collard, and Caroline Picard, heir of an old family of winemakers in the Côte des Blancs, with vineyards in Oger, Le- Mesnil-sur-Oger and Vertus. The tasting was followed by a lunch at Borgo San Jacopo restaurant, at Lungarno Hotel, cooked by Peter Brunel.
